Teacher guide: managing your account, school, password, archiving, cloud maintenance and data. Settings open in a window of their own, where every item has its own clear section.
Teacher app · Settings
1 Opening Settings
Settings is a fixed core tool in the navigation. It is always the last of the core tools, and you do not need to pin it. It opens a window with six sections: User Account, School, Password, Submission archive settings, Cloud maintenance and Data Management. Close the window with the ✕ button in the top right corner.
You cannot open Settings in a window of its own with the ⧉ button, because it opens as a dialog. AI Settings and Archives are separate tools in the Settings group of the + Add tools menu.
In the 👤 User Account section you can change your username. Type the new username in the field and press Change.
If a password is in use, you confirm the change with your password.
If there is no password, you confirm by typing yes.
You get a notification when the change succeeds, and the new username is in use immediately.
3 School
In the 🏫 School section you set or change the school code. The current status is shown above the section: the school name, code and expiry date – or a note that no code has been set.
Type the school code in the field and press Save.
The code is verified with the server before it is saved; you get a notification if the code is invalid.
If it succeeds, the school name is shown and the code is saved.
If the code is no longer valid, the status shows a red NOT ACTIVE label. You can remove the school code by clearing the field and saving.
4 Password
The cloud service requires a password for teacher accounts (September 2026). Your account is also bound to your computer, so you do not have to type your password every time on your own computer. The 🔒 Password section shows the status:
A password is set – you can use Change password and the option Sign in automatically on this computer.
No password has been set yet (in red) – you can use Set password. The app also asks for a password every time it starts until one has been set.
Actions
Set password – enter a new password twice (at least 6 characters). The password is saved first to the cloud and then on the computer.
Change password – enter your current and your new password. The change is only made if the app can connect to the cloud service, so that the passwords on the computer and in the cloud stay the same.
Sign in automatically on this computer – the app opens without asking for your password. The cloud recognises the computer by its device identifier.
You cannot remove the password. If you do not want to type it every time, keep automatic sign-in on.
New computer: when you sign in for the first time, the app binds the computer to your account and shows a recovery code once. Keep it safe. If you later start using a new computer, enter this recovery code there in addition to your password, and the new computer is linked to your account straight away (you also get a new code). If you have lost the code, send a recovery request to the administrators from the app. If you forget your password, choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page — on your own computer you can set a new one directly.
5 Archive settings
The Archive settings button in the 📦 Submission archive settings section opens a separate window where you manage the archiving of submissions (e.g. automatic archiving and retention). This is a topic of its own.
The Reconcile exams with cloud button in the 🔄 Cloud maintenance section compares the exams on this computer with the exams published to the cloud. Use it if you suspect that an exam you deleted has been left in the cloud, or that the cloud and your computer have different exams.
If everything is in order, you see Everything matches: The cloud and this computer have the same exams.
Otherwise you see Reconciliation result, with the numbers of exams (In the cloud / On this computer) and two lists:
Only in the cloud: "ghost exams" that have been left in the cloud even though they are missing from your computer. The label has submissions, do not delete means that the exam has received submissions.
Only on this computer: exams that have not been published to the cloud. This is normal for drafts.
Reconciliation only checks; it does not delete anything. Ghost exams are deleted by the administrators. If the list contains Only in the cloud exams, send a support request from the 🛟 Help tab and give the names of the exams.
7 Data management
The ⚠️ Data Management section is a danger zone: its actions delete data permanently. Both require confirmation.
Delete cloud data
Deletes all your exams, courses and related data from the cloud database. Your account and local data are kept. All active exams and courses are deactivated.
Confirm with your password (if in use) or by typing yes.
If it succeeds, you see “Cloud data deleted successfully”.
Delete account
Deletes your account and ALL data (cloud + local) permanently. The app is reset to its initial state and restarts.
Confirm by typing your username and (if in use) your password.
This action cannot be undone.
Warning: “Delete account” wipes everything and cannot be undone. Only use it when you want to reset the app completely. To clean up the cloud only, “Delete cloud data” is enough.
