Teacher guide: feedback surveys for students. Create a survey, target it at courses and at the start or end of a course, choose the question types and look at the results.

1 What Surveys is
Surveys are used to collect feedback from students. The section opens from the “Surveys” card in the navigation (Feedback). The survey is shown to the student at the start and/or end of the course, according to the placement you choose.
Surveys→Create Survey→Target + questions→View the results
2 Managing surveys
The “Survey Management” view shows the surveys you have created. Each card shows the status, placement, number of questions and action buttons.
The survey list: status (Active / Inactive), 📍 placement, number of questions, linked courses and the Results / Edit / Copy / Delete buttons.
Create Survey – opens the survey editor (section 3).
Status – Active (responses are accepted) or Inactive.
“Create Survey” opens a form. Enter the basic details, target the survey and add the questions.
The survey editor: title, description, placement, linked courses, active status and questions with their types.
Title (required) and Description (optional).
Placement – when the survey is shown to the student: Course start, Course end or Both.
Linked Courses – choose the courses where the survey is shown.
Questions – add questions with the “+ Add Question” button; at least one is required.
Active (Responses accepted) – when ticked, the survey is shown to students and responses are collected. Untick it to close the survey (the status changes to Inactive).
Save Survey saves the survey, Cancel closes the editor without saving.
4 Copying a survey
The 📋 Copy button turns an existing survey into the basis of a new survey. This way you can reuse the same survey, for example on your next course, or edit a new version of it.
Copy Survey: the form is prefilled with the original survey, the title ends with “(copy)”, and Active is unticked.
The Copy Survey form opens prefilled: title, description, placement, linked courses and all questions with their types and options.
“(copy)” is added to the end of the title. Change the title and the courses as needed.
The copy is not active until you tick Active (Responses accepted), so students don't see an unfinished survey.
Save Survey creates a new survey. The original survey and its responses stay as they are, and responses are not copied.
5 Question types
For each question you choose a type from the drop-down menu:
Multiple choice – the student chooses an option. Enter the options on separate lines (one per line).
Open text – the student writes a free answer.
Scale (1-5) – the student rates on a number scale; an average is calculated from the results.
One survey can mix different types – for example scale questions for things you want to measure and an open text field for free feedback.
6 Results
The survey’s “Results” shows a summary of the responses: the number of respondents and the results for each question according to its type.
Results: the number of respondents and statistics per question – the average for a scale, the distribution for multiple choice, a list of answers for open text.
Total responses, Unique students and Overall scale avg – summary figures at the top.
Summary / Table – charts per question or all responses as a table; Export CSV downloads the responses for a spreadsheet.
Scale – the question’s average.
Multiple choice – the distribution of answers by option.
Open text – all free answers as a list.
If there are no responses yet, the results show “No responses yet.”
