1 What the Students view is
Students (Add tools → Students · Profiles) brings together all your students: exam participants and the participants of your published courses. Opening a student shows their student overview: key figures, activity, course progress, and exams and course tests.
Students→Filter→Choose a student→Student overview
A student appears in the list once they have been added as a participant of one of your exams or have joined one of your published courses.
2 Student list and filtering
The view has two parts: on the left the student list in alphabetical order, on the right the student overview of the selected student. Above the list there is a filter field.
Students: the filter field, the student cards and the overview of the selected student side by side.
Student card
Name and student number (a possible school code prefix is not shown).
Exams – the exams the student has been added to as a participant.
Courses – your published courses the student takes part in (in blue).
Delete – shown if the student is a participant of an exam (section 6).
Filtering
Type in the Filter students… field – the list is filtered immediately. The filter matches the name, student number, exam name and course name.
Typing the name of an exam or a course (e.g. MAA6) shows all its participants at once.
3 Student overview
Click a student card – the student’s overview opens on the right. It is built from your own database (exams, grading, archive) and from the synchronisation data of your own courses (progress, activity).
Student overview: key figures, activity over 90 days, when the student studies, events by category, course cards with progress, and exams and course tests.
Key figures – last active, active days (30 days), courses, exams and tests (submitted), exam average and number of completed courses.
Activity over 90 days – one bar per day: course work, task completions and test completions.
When does the student study – a weekday × time of day map. Events by category – course work, task completions and other.
Courses – for each course the progress percentage (the same figure the student sees in their own app), the latest completion and a rhythm map of when the course has been studied.
Exams – a table: exam, status, grade, evaluated time and linked course. Course tests – the student’s test submissions on your courses.
Exam statuses
✓Graded – submitted and graded; the grade and evaluated time are shown.
✓Submitted – the student has submitted, grading is not finished yet.
·Not submitted – the student is a participant of the exam but has not taken it yet.
✓Archived – an old, archived attempt; the grade and evaluated time are shown.
4 Privacy mode
When privacy mode is on (its own button in the navigation), students' personal data is hidden – handy, for example, when you show your screen to the class or share screenshots.
Names are replaced with random pseudonyms (e.g. Liisa-Petteri, Oravakuningas Mättönen).
Only the beginning of the student number is shown, and the last three characters appear as asterisks – e.g. 100***.
Privacy mode only affects the display. The actual data stays unchanged, and actions (search, profile, deletion) apply to the correct student.
5 Deleting a student
The Delete button on the card deletes the student. You are asked to confirm before the deletion.
A confirmation dialog makes sure before the data is permanently deleted.
Note: Deletion is permanent – the student's data is deleted and the action cannot be undone. Cancel is selected by default so that accidental deletions do not happen.
